Team Teach Accreditations
and Certifications

At Team Teach, we bring over 30 years of experience as an accredited, award-winning provider of behaviour support training, working in partnership with education, health, and social care organisations.

We deliver accessible, flexible, and practical training solutions that are tailored to the specific needs of each organisation. Our training places a strong emphasis on de-escalation and preventative approaches, with 95% of course content focused de-escalation and supporting safe, respectful environments for everyone in your care. Physical interventions are taught only where there is an identified need and are always framed within a safeguarding and risk reduction context.

With our courses, you can be confident that you and your staff remain up to date with statutory guidance and legal requirements appropriate for your setting. All Team Teach techniques undergo an independent medical risk assessment, in line with the requirements set by the Institute of Conflict Management. This provides assurance that physical interventions are evidence informed, risk assessed and delivered within a clear safeguarding framework.

BILD ACT

Team Teach is certified by the BILD ACT (Association of Certified Training) and delivers training that complies with the Restraint Reduction Network (RRN) Training Standards. Compliance with these standards is a requirement for NHS-commissioned services where restrictive practices may be used.

Organisations and Services Required or Expected to Use BILD ACT / RRN Approved Training

RRN approved training delivered by a BILD ACT-certified provider is mandatory or strongly recommended in regulated settings, particularly where restrictive practice may be used. In these settings, certification provides assurance that staff training supports restraint reduction, safeguarding, and lawful practice, and meets commissioning and regulatory expectations.

These organisations and services include:

  • Specialist education and residential education settings where restrictive interventions form part of risk management arrangements
  • Children’s residential care and secure children’s homes, in line with Department for Education expectations
  • Services commissioned by Local Authorities or Integrated Care Boards where contracts specify compliance with RRN Training Standards
  • NHS-commissioned mental health inpatient services, including services for children and young people
  • Learning disability and autism inpatient services, including assessment and treatment units
  • Secure mental health services, including forensic and psychiatric intensive care units (PICUs)

Organisations and Services That May Also Benefit from BILD ACT and RRN-Approved Training

While not mandatory in all settings, BILD ACT-certified, RRN-approved training may be preferred or recommended for organisations seeking to evidence best practice, restraint reduction, and high standards of safeguarding.

These organisations and services include:

  • Education settings, including special schools and alternative provision
  • Community-based health and social care services
  • Adult social care services, including supported living and residential care
  • Voluntary and third-sector organisations supporting vulnerable individuals
  • Custodial, justice, and secure environments
