A toolkit of strategies
Team Teach training helps every individual in your organisation respond in a way that is reasonable, proportionate and necessary.
Our techniques promote a respectful, supportive approach. You will learn strategies that maintain positive relationships and encourage de-escalation together with a thorough needs analysis. For lower-risk settings this may include safe positive handling techniques, including personal safety, appropriate for the environment.
For higher-risk settings, our positive behaviour training teaches strategies that ensure personal safety and the reduction of risk and restraint. Participants learn a wide range of authorised physical restraint and handling techniques specifically designed to support and respond to distressed behaviour safely. This training includes relevant legal standards and expectations related to the use of force, and reporting, recording, monitoring and evaluating requirements.

“When researching the right training for our company and the people we support, Team Teach came highly commended. I was anxious, with limited knowledge, but the staff at Team Teach took the time to explain the process, content and pointed me in the right direction of gaining prior knowledge. I attended an online course with Team Teach and was quickly captured by not only the content but the trainer also.
Following the completion of the course I gained an increase in confidence and quickly became excited about the Trainer course.
The trainer course was intense, but the repetitive nature of the practical allowed the physical interventions to become muscle memory. The trainers remained highly motivated and ensured they had a person-centred approach to our learning. This is now a very enjoyable aspect of my job and I thoroughly thank the Team Teach team for this learning opportunity.

“From my perspective having the meeting before the training with our allocated trainer, walking the building so she can have an understanding of what challenges we may face, was very good. I felt that this was then all incorporated into the training.
Both trainers very knowledgeable. I’ve had nothing but positive feedback from the team since and noticed a real change in the atmosphere of the home.”
